Address: Hours: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–5:30 PM I’m Carla Payne, founder of Aging Care Matters. My journey into this work became deeply personal while caring long-distance for my own parents during my father’s medical and cognitive decline, and I know firsthand how overwhelming, lonely, and frightening caregiving can feel. After moving many times throughout my life, Wake Forest became the place I finally knew was home, and creating this center here has truly been a labor of love. I wanted families in our community to have a place where older adults are not just supervised, but genuinely known, engaged, respected, and cared for like family. I would love to personally invite you to visit our center, sit with us, ask questions, and experience the warmth, connection, and peace of mind so many families tell us they feel the moment they walk through our doors. ACM’s Wake Forest Adult Day Center provides compassionate adult day care, dementia support, social engagement, and caregiver respite in a warm, close-knit environment with a smaller 12-person capacity that allows for highly personalized attention and meaningful connection. ACM’s Aging Care Matters Adult Day Center – Wake Forest is conveniently located to serve families throughout the greater Wake Forest and North Raleigh area. We are conveniently located, behind Shuckers Oyster Bar & Grill in the lower-level professional suites. Typical drive times are approximately: Families find the location easy to incorporate into work commutes, school drop-offs, appointments, and daily caregiving routines. For easier caregiver drop-off and pickup, families may utilize one of our two handicap parking spaces directly in front of the center. Our staff greets participants at their vehicle with open arms and big smiles, escorting them safely into the center and back out at pickup while learning each family’s vehicle and routine. A typical day at ACM Wake Forest begins with warm greetings and help exiting your car, coffee or tea, conversation, music, and a calm transition into the day. Throughout the morning and afternoon, participants enjoy structured activities, cognitive engagement, games, movement, shared meals, music, laughter, outdoor fresh air walks, and meaningful social connections. What makes Wake Forest especially unique is its smaller size and intimate family feel. With no more than 12 participants and typically 2–3 staff members present, families often describe the center as feeling more like an extended family or The Social Club gathering where everyone truly knows one another. The easily walkable sidewalk area also allows for safe outdoor walks and fresh air, adding another layer of calm, movement, and connection to the day. Because Wake Forest is our smallest location with no more than 12 participants, families benefit from a higher level of individualized attention and relationship-centered support. Staff know each participant personally and recognize changes in mood, behavior, or needs and are able to address quickly. Our daily rhythm is intentionally structured to support individuals living with dementia, including calmer afternoon programming, familiar routines, music, gentle activities, hydration, snacks, and lower-stimulation engagement designed to help reduce sundowning behaviors, confusion, and late-day anxiety. Meals at ACM’s Aging Care Matters Adult Day Center – Wake Forest are designed to feel comforting, social, and familiar — much like gathering around the table with family. Participants enjoy morning snacks, lunch, and afternoon snacks together while staff encourage conversation, hydration, connection, and a calm dining experience that supports dignity and independence. Our meals and snacks have been reviewed and approved by a licensed dietician, and participants are able to choose meals from The Forks Cafeteria right here in Wake Forest. ACM follows physician instructions and dietary recommendations for diabetic, low-sugar, no-sugar, soft-food, allergy-sensitive, cultural, and religious dietary needs to help ensure meals are both safe and enjoyable for every participant. ACM’s adult day care daily rate includes a full day of compassionate supervision, dementia-informed support, social engagement, meals, snacks, structured activities, medication reminders, and caregiver respite in a safe and welcoming environment. Our rate is $112 per day for participants attending one to two days per week and $100 per day for participants attending three or more days per week, making adult day care the most affordable senior care options available compared to in-home care, assisted living, or memory care communities. Payment is made weekly based on scheduled attendance days, and if a participant misses a scheduled day, families may make up that day within the same calendar month when space is available. Families may pay by check, ACH, or credit card, though a 3% processing fee is added to credit card payments. For additional details regarding attendance options, payment methods, and policies, please visit our full Pricing & Payment Options page. We would love the opportunity to meet you, learn about your family’s needs, and show you what makes ACM’s Aging Care Matters Adult Day Center – Wake Forest so special. We invite you to schedule a personal tour, ask questions, and experience firsthand the warmth, connection, compassionate dementia support, and peace of mind that families often say they feel the moment they walk through our doors.
