Carla Payne

Owner/CERTIFIED CARE MANAGER/ Fellow of the Leadership Academy / SE Chapter President

Carla earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Master’s in counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2004 she became an Ombudsman serving as an advocate for those living in skilled care facilities. Carla also earned a graduate certificate in Gerontology from West Chester University and her National Certification in Care Management. Over the past 18 years she has provided direction, intervention, and solutions to families in need. In addition, she has served as a chapter board member and unit leader with The Aging Life Care Association in both Pa & NC. Carla is the 2023-24 President of the SE Chapter which consists of care managers within NC, SC, TN, GA, MS and AL. In 2019 Carla was recognized as the SE Chapter Member of the Year.

Carla remains involved in her local community with the Chamber of Commerce, she is a board member and Co-education chair of the Seniors Information Group of Wake Forest (SING), board member of Fidelity NC Bank and is past president of the WF chapter of Women in Networking.

Karina Flores

Assistant

Karina Flores, our vibrant Adult Day Center Assistant, whose passion for compassionate care and joyous interactions with our participants defines her role. Karina brings a unique blend of organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for everyone involved. Her genuine enthusiasm for creating a positive environment shines through, making each day at our center special for our participants. Outside of her dedicated work, Karina finds joy in spending quality time with her family and showcasing her lively spirit through dancing, a true testament to her energetic and youthful personality.

Audrey Gastmeyer

Care Manager

Audrey is a native North Carolinian and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a BA and MBA. She has been a Stephen Minister for several years, walking alongside people going through difficulties of all kinds. She enjoys combining that experience with her background in business processes and problem-solving to empower care management clients. Listening well and being a calm, accepting presence are her top priorities.
She loves to read, spend time outdoors (anywhere near water), and hang out with her family, friends, and dogs.

Kay Gamble

Care Manager

With a profound commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors, Kay specializes in fostering independence and wellness among our cherished community members. Her impactful journey includes serving as the past president of the Friends of the Northern Wake Senior Center, exemplifying her deep-rooted connection to the senior community. In her role as Area Director for Raleigh/Durham with Arosa LLC, Kay has overseen the seamless operations of care providers and nursing services for at-home clients and independent living facilities. Beyond her professional achievements, Kay brings a well-rounded vibrancy to our team. An accomplished golfer, she gracefully navigates both fairways and the delicate nuances of senior care. Actively involved in her community, Kay extends her compassionate touch as a Stephens Minister, while also participating in various book clubs and senior center activities. Kay Gamble is not just a care manager; she is a beacon of support, a community leader, and a passionate advocate for the well-being of our seniors.

Ali Hoerner

Graduate Intern

Ali Hoerner is a member of the Aging Life Care Association and works full-time as an Elder Care Consultant. She has a passion for working with those with dementia and their caregivers, which ultimately stemmed from her interactions with various loved ones who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Ali worked in an outpatient psychiatric practice completing evaluations for those with suspected memory impairments before switching to a role in virtual care consulting for older adults and their loved ones. Ali is currently completing her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Gerontology, and she has completed various Alzheimer’s Association programs and training. Ali’s combination of personal experience and ongoing education allows her to work collaboratively with families to help their loved ones maintain integrity and autonomy while also meeting the needs of the caregivers.

Ali Hoerner’s commitment to the field of social work, coupled with her wealth of experience and expertise, makes her a valuable asset in providing comprehensive and empathetic care to clients and their families.

Elle Elliott

Graduate Intern

We are delighted to introduce Elle Elliott, our accomplished Graduate Intern hailing from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work. Elle brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate spirit, having volunteered and worked within the senior industry since her early teens. Her dedication to enhancing the lives of seniors is truly inspiring, and her passion shines through in her commitment to bringing joy and engaging activities to our Adult Day Center. As Elle settles into her new home with her husband and growing family, her enthusiasm and expertise contribute to the warmth and inclusivity that defines our community. We are fortunate to have Elle as part of our team, enriching the lives of our participants and fostering a vibrant and supportive environment within our center.
